Dominant groups

Analysis of female individual income levels in Travancore in 2021 compared to Essendon West shows that there was a similar proportion of females earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a lower proportion of low income females (those earning less than $500 per week).

Overall, 13.5% of the female population earned a high income, and 28.1% earned a low income, compared with 13.4% and 34.9% respectively for Essendon West.

The major differences between Travancore's female individual incomes and Essendon West's female individual incomes were:

  • A larger percentage of females who earned $1,250 - $1,499 (8.2% compared to 5.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of females who earned Negative Income/ Nil income (8.4% compared to 11.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of females who earned $1 - $149 (2.6% compared to 5.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of females who earned $1,500 - $1,749 (7.4% compared to 9.4%)
