Name origin

Aberfeldie is named after an original property in the area, which was named after a place in Scotland.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from the mid 1800s, with some growth during the late 1800s. Significant development did not occur until the interwar period. Growth continued in the post-war years. The population increased slightly from the early 1990s, a result of new dwellings being added to the area, particularly medium density housing.
