Analysis of the household/family types in Essendon in 2021 compared to Travancore shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 30.2% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 7.3% were one-parent families, compared with 12.1% and 6.1% respectively for Travancore.
There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 31.2% compared to 39.3% in Travancore while the proportion of couples without children was 22.8% compared to 26.5% in Travancore.
