Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Shire of Merredin in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (153 males or 20.8%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (79 males or 10.7%)
  • Wholesale trade (68 males or 9.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 300 males in total or 40.8% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Regional WA employed 11.8% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 6.2% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 2.8% in Wholesale trade.
