Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Rural North West in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (203 people or 21.0%)
  • Construction (100 people or 10.3%)
  • Education and Training (80 people or 8.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 383 people in total or 39.6% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Queensland employed 2.6% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 9.1% in Construction; and 8.8% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Rural North West and Queensland were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (21.0% compared to 2.6%)
