Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Livingstone Shire Council area in 2011 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (1,587 people or 10.8%)
  • Retail Trade (1,522 people or 10.4%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,492 people or 10.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,601 people in total or 31.3% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional QLD employed 9.7% in Construction; 11.3% in Retail Trade; and 11.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the Livingstone Shire Council area and Regional QLD were:
