Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Coastal Hinterlands North in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (258 people or 13.0%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (243 people or 12.3%)
  • Education and Training (215 people or 10.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 716 people in total or 36.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Zilzie employed 10.5% in Construction; 16.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 7.4% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Coastal Hinterlands North and Zilzie were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (5.5% compared to 1.6%)
