Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Rural North in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (118 people or 25.8%)
  • Construction (52 people or 11.4%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (47 people or 10.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 217 people in total or 47.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Kyogle Council Area employed 17.6% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 9.3% in Construction; and 16.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Rural North and Kyogle Council Area were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (25.8% compared to 17.6%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (11.4% compared to 9.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (10.3% compared to 16.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in retail trade (5.2% compared to 8.0%)
