Dominant groups

Analysis of the female five year age groups of the Shire of Harvey in 2021 compared to Regional WA shows that there was a similar proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a similar proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 19.6% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 17.8% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 19.2% and 17.9% respectively for Regional WA.

The major differences between the female age structure of the Shire of Harvey and Regional WA were:

  • A larger percentage of females aged 15 to 19 (6.4% compared to 5.4%)
  • A larger percentage of females aged 10 to 14 (7.5% compared to 6.7%)
