Dominant groups
Analysis of the family blending in the Shire of Harvey in 2021 compared to Regional WA shows that there was a higher proportion of step families as well as a higher proportion of blended families. Overall, 16.6% of total couple families with children were step families, and 5.5% were blended families, compared with 15.4% and 5.0% respectively for Regional WA.
There were a similar proportion of other families and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of other families was 0.8% compared to 1.0% in Regional WA while the proportion of intact families was 77.2% compared to 78.5% in Regional WA.
