Dominant groups
Analysis of the highest level of schooling attained by the population in Labrador in 2021 compared to Division 05 shows that there was a lower proportion of people who had left school at an early level (Year 10 or less) as well as a lower proportion of people who completed Year 12 or equivalent.
Overall, 31.0% of the population left school at Year 10 or below, and 51.9% went on to complete Year 12 or equivalent, compared with 31.6% and 54.8% respectively for Division 05.
The major differences between the level of schooling attained by the population in Labrador and Division 05 were:
- A larger percentage of persons who completed year 8 or below (4.1% compared to 2.6%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who completed year 12 or equivalent (51.9% compared to 54.8%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who completed year 10 or equivalent (21.2% compared to 23.0%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who completed year 11 or equivalent (7.4% compared to 9.1%)
Emerging groups
The largest changes in the level of schooling attained by the population in Labrador, between 2016 and 2021 were:
- Year 12 or equivalent (+933 persons)
- Year 8 or below (-67 persons)
- Year 10 or equivalent (+53 persons)
- Year 9 or equivalent (+52 persons)
