Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Main Beach in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (498 people or 26.9%)
- Managers (389 people or 21.0%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (248 people or 13.4%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,135 people in total or 61.4% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Robina - West employed 24.0% in Professionals; 12.1% in Managers; and 14.4% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Main Beach and Robina - West were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Managers (21.0% compared to 12.1%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Professionals (26.9% compared to 24.0%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (9.5% compared to 13.8%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (7.8% compared to 11.3%)

The number of employed people in Main Beach decreased by 7 between 2016 and 2021.
