Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Runaway Bay in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (368 males or 18.4%)
  • Retail Trade (182 males or 9.1%)
  • Manufacturing (165 males or 8.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 715 males in total or 35.7% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Currumbin Waters employed 24.4% in Construction; 8.5% in Retail Trade; and 7.8% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Runaway Bay and Currumbin Waters were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in rental, hiring and real estate services (4.3% compared to 1.4%)
