Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Runaway Bay in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (413 females or 21.6%)
  • Education and Training (228 females or 11.9%)
  • Retail Trade (221 females or 11.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 862 females in total or 45.1% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Gold Coast City employed 23.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.1% in Education and Training; and 12.0% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Runaway Bay and Gold Coast City were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in rental, hiring and real estate services (4.6% compared to 2.7%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in construction (4.6% compared to 3.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (7.6% compared to 9.7%)
