Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Carrara in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (620 males or 19.3%)
  • Retail Trade (320 males or 9.9%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (240 males or 7.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,180 males in total or 36.6% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Gold Coast City employed 19.3% in Construction; 8.7% in Retail Trade; and 8.1% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Carrara and Gold Coast City were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in retail trade (9.9% compared to 8.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in health care and social assistance (5.4% compared to 6.8%)
