More Division 14 female residents worked in health care and social assistance than any other industry in 2021.

Division 14's industry statistics identify the industry sectors in which the residents work (which may be within the residing area or elsewhere). This will be influenced by the skill base and socio-economic status of the residents as well as the industries and employment opportunities present in the region.

When viewed in conjunction with Residents Place of Work data and Method of Travel to Work, industry sector statistics provide insights into the relationship between the economic and residential role of the area.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Division 14 in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,279 females or 24.6%)
  • Education and Training (1,257 females or 13.6%)
  • Retail Trade (1,042 females or 11.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,578 females in total or 49.4% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Division 13 employed 23.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.2% in Education and Training; and 11.5% in Retail Trade.

There were no major differences between Division 14 and Division 13 in 2021.

Emerging groups

The number of employed females in Division 14 increased by 1,402 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the jobs held by the female resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Division 14 were for those employed in:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (+524 females)
  • Education and Training (+267 females)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (+212 females)
  • Construction (+62 females)
