Division 06's industry statistics identify the industry sectors in which the residents work (which may be within the residing area or elsewhere). This will be influenced by the skill base and socio-economic status of the residents as well as the industries and employment opportunities present in the region.
When viewed in conjunction with Residents Place of Work data and Method of Travel to Work, industry sector statistics provide insights into the relationship between the economic and residential role of the area.

Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Division 06 in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (2,710 females or 24.8%)
- Accommodation and Food Services (1,470 females or 13.5%)
- Retail Trade (1,338 females or 12.3%)
In combination, these three industries employed 5,518 females in total or 50.6% of the total employed female resident population.
In comparison, Oxenford - Maudsland employed 24.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 7.2% in Accommodation and Food Services; and 12.6% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Division 06 and Oxenford - Maudsland were:
- A larger percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (13.5% compared to 7.2%)
- A larger percentage of females employed in administrative and support services (5.2% compared to 3.5%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in education and training (9.9% compared to 13.3%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in manufacturing (2.3% compared to 3.7%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed females in Division 06 increased by 2,135 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the jobs held by the female resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Division 06 were for those employed in:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+884 females)
- Accommodation and Food Services (+241 females)
- Retail Trade (+225 females)
- Education and Training (+154 females)
