Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Hope Island in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (597 females or 18.2%)
  • Education and Training (346 females or 10.6%)
  • Retail Trade (340 females or 10.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,283 females in total or 39.2% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Oxenford - Maudsland employed 24.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.3% in Education and Training; and 12.6% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Hope Island and Oxenford - Maudsland were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (8.6% compared to 5.5%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in rental, hiring and real estate services (5.1% compared to 2.5%)
