Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Hope Island in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (764 people or 11.5%)
- Construction (757 people or 11.4%)
- Retail Trade (641 people or 9.6%)
In combination, these three industries employed 2,162 people in total or 32.5% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Carrara employed 13.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.1% in Construction; and 10.9% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Hope Island and Carrara were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (8.8% compared to 6.4%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in rental, hiring and real estate services (4.8% compared to 3.0%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (11.5% compared to 13.9%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in education and training (7.0% compared to 8.9%)

- Education and Training (+242 persons)
