Dominant groups
Analysis of the household/family types in Division 08 in 2021 compared to Division 03 shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 28.9% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 11.9% were one-parent families, compared with 42.1% and 15.4% respectively for Division 03.
There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 23.5% compared to 10.8% in Division 03 while the proportion of couples without children was 26.9% compared to 22.1% in Division 03.
Emerging groups
The number of households in Division 08 increased by 1,168 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in family/household types in Division 08 between 2016 and 2021 were:
- Lone person (+594 households)
- Couples without children (+431 households)
- Couples with children (+350 households)
- One parent families (+78 households)
