Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Division 07 in 2021 compared to Miami shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 25.4% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.9% were one-parent families, compared with 20.8% and 9.3% respectively for Miami.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a similar proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 24.8% compared to 27.7% in Miami while the proportion of couples without children was 24.9% compared to 25.1% in Miami.

Emerging groups

The number of households in Division 07 increased by 1,352 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in family/household types in Division 07 between 2016 and 2021 were:

  • Lone person (+640 households)
  • Couples without children (+507 households)
  • Couples with children (+299 households)
  • One parent families (+146 households)
