Dominant groups
Analysis of the male five year age groups of Division 10 in 2021 compared to Division 05 shows that there was a lower proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 9.8% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 22.2% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 22.0% and 13.0% respectively for Division 05.
The major differences between the male age structure of Division 10 and Division 05 were:
- A larger percentage of males aged 25 to 29 (9.4% compared to 5.6%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 5 to 9 (3.2% compared to 7.8%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 10 to 14 (3.5% compared to 8.0%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 15 to 19 (3.8% compared to 7.1%)
Emerging groups
From 2016 to 2021, Division 10's male population increased by 2,188 people (10.0%). This represents an average annual population change of 1.92% per year over the period.
The largest changes in male age structure in this area between 2016 and 2021 were in the age groups:
- 70 to 74 (+511 males)
- 60 to 64 (+431 males)
- 20 to 24 (-371 males)
- 75 to 79 (+355 males)
