Dominant groups
Analysis of the five year age groups of Division 07 in 2021 compared to Miami shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 15.7% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 18.9% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 14.3% and 16.0% respectively for Miami.
The major differences between the age structure of Division 07 and Miami were:
- A larger percentage of persons aged 15 to 19 (5.7% compared to 4.2%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 30 to 34 (6.5% compared to 10.3%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 25 to 29 (6.9% compared to 9.5%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 35 to 39 (6.5% compared to 8.5%)
Emerging groups
From 2006 to 2021, Division 07's population increased by 6,591 people (16.8%). This represents an average annual population change of 1.04% per year over the period.
The largest changes in age structure in this area between 2006 and 2021 were in the age groups:
- 70 to 74 (+1,280 persons)
- 65 to 69 (+953 persons)
- 60 to 64 (+921 persons)
- 55 to 59 (+762 persons)
