Dominant groups
Analysis of the family blending in Division 02 in 2021 compared to Surfers Paradise - North shows that there was a lower proportion of step families as well as a lower proportion of blended families. Overall, 11.1% of total couple families with children were step families, and 3.9% were blended families, compared with 13.0% and 3.1% respectively for Surfers Paradise - North.
There were a similar proportion of other families and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of other families was 0.4% compared to 0.0% in Surfers Paradise - North while the proportion of intact families was 84.6% compared to 83.9% in Surfers Paradise - North.

The number of couple families with children in Division 02 increased by 507 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in family blending in Division 02 between 2016 and 2021 were:
