Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of males in Gold Coast City compared to Gold Coast City shows that there was a lower proportion of males who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 4.0% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 5.4% for Gold Coast City.
The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in Division 12 and Gold Coast City were:
- A smaller percentage of males aged 65 to 69 (4.4% compared to 7.2%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 5 to 9 (3.3% compared to 6.1%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 75 to 79 (13.2% compared to 15.5%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 80 to 84 (21.9% compared to 24.0%)
Emerging groups
There were no major differences in Division 12 between 2016 and 2021.
