Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of people in Gold Coast City compared to Ormeau (East) - Stapylton shows that there was a higher proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 7.0% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 5.5% for Ormeau (East) - Stapylton.
The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Division 06 and Ormeau (East) - Stapylton were:
- A larger percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (19.0% compared to 13.8%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 80 to 84 (28.6% compared to 33.1%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 70 to 74 (12.9% compared to 16.5%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 5 to 9 (4.9% compared to 7.3%)
Emerging groups
The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance between 2011 and 2021 in Division 06 were in the age groups:
- 20 to 59 (+253 persons)
- 75 to 79 (+184 persons)
- 70 to 74 (+108 persons)
- 85 and over (+86 persons)
