Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Bayside in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (4,607 females or 18.5%)
  • Education and Training (3,376 females or 13.6%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (3,272 females or 13.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 11,255 females in total or 45.2% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Sandringham Activity Centre employed 18.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.5% in Education and Training; and 13.5% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Bayside and Sandringham Activity Centre were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (5.7% compared to 4.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (10.3% compared to 12.2%)
