Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Bayside in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (7,583 people or 15.0%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (6,144 people or 12.2%)
  • Education and Training (4,764 people or 9.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 18,491 people in total or 36.6% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 9.6% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 13.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 8.8% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of Bayside and Greater Melbourne were:
