Dominant groups
Analysis of the number of bedrooms in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dwellings in Shire of Ashburton in 2021 compared to the number of bedrooms in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dwellings in Regional WA shows that there was a lower proportion of dwellings with 2 bedrooms or less, as well as a lower proportion of dwellings with 4 or more bedrooms.
Overall, 16.3% of households were in dwellings with 2 bedrooms or less, and 24.6% of 4 or more bedroom dwellings, compared with 18.6% and 32.1% for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander households in Regional WA respectively.
The major differences between the number of bedrooms per dwelling for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population in Shire of Ashburton and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander in Regional WA were:
