Analysis of the household/family types in Gold Coast City in 2021 compared to South East Queensland shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 28.0% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 11.5% were one-parent families, compared with 29.8% and 11.3% respectively for South East Queensland.
There were a similar proportion of lone person households and a similar proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 22.2% compared to 22.5% in South East Queensland while the proportion of couples without children was 26.4% compared to 26.2% in South East Queensland.
