Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Woronora in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (176 people or 15.9%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (135 people or 12.2%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (121 people or 10.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 432 people in total or 39.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Sutherland Shire employed 11.3% in Construction; 12.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 9.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Woronora and Sutherland Shire were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (15.9% compared to 11.3%)
