Analysis of the unpaid child care provided by the population in Canada Bay City in 2021 compared to Sutherland Shire shows that there was a lower proportion of people who provided unpaid child care either to their own or to other children. Overall, 24.2% of the population provided unpaid child care, compared with 28.4% for Sutherland Shire.
The major differences between the share of the population providing unpaid child care in Canada Bay City and Sutherland Shire were:
- A larger percentage who did not provide care for children (70.9% compared to 67.8%)
- A smaller percentage who provided unpaid childcare for own child/ren (20.7% compared to 22.9%)
- A smaller percentage who provided unpaid childcare for other child/ren (3.3% compared to 5.2%)
