In 2021, there were 63,700 people who caught public transport to work (train, bus, tram or ferry) in SSROC region, compared with 266,647 who drove in private vehicles (car – as driver, car – as passenger, motorbike, or truck).
Analysis of the method of travel to work of the residents in SSROC region in 2021, compared to Canada Bay City, shows that 7.4% used public transport, while 30.1% used a private vehicle, compared with 6.1% and 31.4% respectively in Canada Bay City.
The major differences in persons between the method of travel to work of SSROC region and Canada Bay City were:
- A larger percentage of persons who walked only (3.5% compared to 1.8%)
- A larger percentage of persons who did not go to work (13.2% compared to 11.5%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who worked at home (42.7% compared to 46.8%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who travelled by car (as driver) (27.8% compared to 29.3%)
