Analysis of the female service age groups of SSROC region in 2021 compared to Inner West Council area shows that there was a higher proportion of females in the younger age groups (0 to 17 years) as well as a higher proportion of females in the older age groups (60+ years).
Overall, 17.8% of the female population was aged between 0 and 17, and 21.4% were aged 60 years and over, compared with 16.2% and 20.0% respectively for Inner West Council area.
The major differences between the female age structure of SSROC region and Inner West Council area were:
- A larger percentage of 'Tertiary education & independence' (9.0% compared to 7.8%)
- A smaller percentage of 'Parents and homebuilders' (21.3% compared to 24.0%)
- A smaller percentage of 'Young workforce' (18.6% compared to 19.5%)
- A smaller percentage of 'Older workers & pre-retirees' (11.8% compared to 12.6%)
