Analysis of the highest level of schooling attained by the population in Inner West Council area in 2021 compared to Woollahra Municipal Council area shows that there was a higher proportion of people who had left school at an early level (Year 10 or less) and a lower proportion of people who completed Year 12 or equivalent.
Overall, 16.0% of the population left school at Year 10 or below, and 75.0% went on to complete Year 12 or equivalent, compared with 9.2% and 81.4% respectively for Woollahra Municipal Council area.
The major differences between the level of schooling attained by the population in Inner West Council area and Woollahra Municipal Council area were:
- A larger percentage of persons who completed year 10 or equivalent (9.0% compared to 6.1%)
- A larger percentage of persons who completed year 8 or below (3.3% compared to 1.0%)
- A larger percentage of persons who did not go to school (1.3% compared to 0.2%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who completed year 12 or equivalent (75.0% compared to 81.4%)
