An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Waverley Council Area in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (15,962 people or 41.8%)
- Managers (8,448 people or 22.1%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (3,654 people or 9.6%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 28,064 people in total or 73.4% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Burwood Council Area employed 30.2% in Professionals; 12.4% in Managers; and 13.1% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Waverley Council Area and Burwood Council Area were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Professionals (41.8% compared to 30.2%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Managers (22.1% compared to 12.4%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Labourers (3.0% compared to 9.7%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (9.6% compared to 13.1%)
