Analysis of household income levels in Bayside Council area in 2021 compared to SSROC region shows that there was a smaller proportion of high income households (those earning $3,000 per week or more) and a higher proportion of low income households (those earning less than $800 per week).
Overall, 26.1% of the households earned a high income and 19.2% were low income households, compared with 31.8% and 18.0% respectively for SSROC region.
The major differences between the household incomes of Bayside Council area and SSROC region were:
- A smaller percentage of households who earned $4,500 - $4,999 (4.5% compared to 6.5%)
- A smaller percentage of households who earned $6,000 - $7,999 (2.9% compared to 4.8%)
- A smaller percentage of households who earned $8,000 or more (0.8% compared to 2.0%)
- A smaller percentage of households who earned $5,000 - $5,999 (3.2% compared to 4.3%)
