Analysis of household income levels in Waverley Council Area in 2021 compared to Sutherland Shire shows that there was a larger proportion of high income households (those earning $3,000 per week or more) and a lower proportion of low income households (those earning less than $800 per week).
Overall, 45.2% of the households earned a high income and 12.2% were low income households, compared with 35.1% and 15.9% respectively for Sutherland Shire.
The major differences between the household incomes of Waverley Council Area and Sutherland Shire were:
- A larger percentage of households who earned $4,500 - $4,999 (10.9% compared to 6.1%)
- A larger percentage of households who earned $6,000 - $7,999 (8.8% compared to 4.9%)
- A larger percentage of households who earned $8,000 or more (4.8% compared to 1.6%)
- A smaller percentage of households who earned $2,500 - $2,999 (5.3% compared to 7.6%)
