Analysis of household income levels in the City of Canterbury Bankstown in 2021 compared to Georges River Council area shows that there was a smaller proportion of high income households (those earning $3,000 per week or more) and a higher proportion of low income households (those earning less than $800 per week).
Overall, 19.5% of the households earned a high income and 24.7% were low income households, compared with 27.7% and 18.9% respectively for Georges River Council area.
The major differences between the household incomes of the City of Canterbury Bankstown and Georges River Council area were:
- A larger percentage of households who earned $650 - $799 (6.5% compared to 4.8%)
- A smaller percentage of households who earned $4,500 - $4,999 (2.9% compared to 4.5%)
- A smaller percentage of households who earned $6,000 - $7,999 (2.0% compared to 3.5%)
- A smaller percentage of households who earned $3,000 - $3,499 (5.6% compared to 7.0%)
