Analysis of the five year age groups of the City of Sydney in 2021 compared to Woollahra Municipal Council area shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 7.6% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 9.6% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 14.9% and 20.9% respectively for Woollahra Municipal Council area.
The major differences between the age structure of the City of Sydney and Woollahra Municipal Council area were:
- A larger percentage of persons aged 25 to 29 (16.3% compared to 7.8%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 30 to 34 (15.9% compared to 7.9%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 20 to 24 (10.2% compared to 5.5%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 35 to 39 (11.2% compared to 7.1%)
