Analysis of the five year age groups of Canada Bay City in 2021 compared to Strathfield Council shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 15.8% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 16.9% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 14.8% and 12.1% respectively for Strathfield Council.
The major differences between the age structure of Canada Bay City and Strathfield Council were:
- A larger percentage of persons aged 45 to 49 (6.8% compared to 5.1%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 25 to 29 (7.7% compared to 12.8%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 20 to 24 (6.1% compared to 10.1%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 30 to 34 (9.0% compared to 11.5%)
