Analysis of the five year age groups of Bayside Council area in 2021 compared to Georges River Council area shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 15.1% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 14.8% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 15.9% and 17.3% respectively for Georges River Council area.
The major differences between the age structure of Bayside Council area and Georges River Council area were:
- A larger percentage of persons aged 30 to 34 (10.5% compared to 7.5%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 25 to 29 (10.4% compared to 8.0%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 35 to 39 (8.6% compared to 7.2%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 60 to 64 (4.6% compared to 5.9%)
