Analysis of the five year age groups of Inner West Council area in 2021 compared to Canada Bay City shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 14.6% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 14.1% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 15.8% and 16.9% respectively for Canada Bay City.
The major differences between the age structure of Inner West Council area and Canada Bay City were:
- A larger percentage of persons aged 25 to 29 (9.4% compared to 7.7%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 30 to 34 (9.9% compared to 9.0%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 45 to 49 (7.5% compared to 6.8%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 40 to 44 (7.7% compared to 7.0%)
