The size of Bayside Council area's labour force in 2021 was 90,132, of which 25,942 were employed part-time and 48,955 were full time workers.
Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in Bayside Council area in 2021 compared to Sutherland Shire shows that there was a lower proportion in employment, and a higher proportion unemployed. Overall, 94.5% of the labour force was employed, and 5.5% unemployed, compared with 96.9% and 3.1% respectively for Sutherland Shire.
Analysis of the labour force participation rate of the population in Bayside Council area in 2021 shows that there was a lower proportion in the labour force (60.6%) compared with Sutherland Shire (64.6%).
