In 2021, there were 5,585 separate houses in the area, 7,746 medium density dwellings, and 12,914 high density dwellings.
Analysis of the types of dwellings in Woollahra Municipal Council area in 2021 shows that 21.0% of all dwellings were separate houses; 29.2% were medium density dwellings, and 48.6% were in high density dwellings, compared with 35.1%, 19.8%, and 43.8% in the Canada Bay City respectively.
In 2021, a total of 86.1% of the dwellings in Woollahra Municipal Council area were occupied on Census night, compared to 91.3% in Canada Bay City. The proportion of unoccupied dwellings was 13.7%, which is larger compared to that found in Canada Bay City (8.6%).
