Analysis of the need for assistance of people in the Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (SSROC) compared to Woollahra Municipal Council area shows that there was a higher proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 4.1% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 2.9% for Woollahra Municipal Council area.
The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Randwick City and Woollahra Municipal Council area were:
- A larger percentage of persons aged 80 to 84 (27.2% compared to 15.3%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 85 and over (42.5% compared to 32.6%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (15.6% compared to 8.2%)
- A larger percentage of persons aged 70 to 74 (9.3% compared to 3.5%)
