Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander resident population in City of Ryde in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (81 people or 25.9%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (58 people or 18.5%)
- Managers (43 people or 13.7%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 182 people in total or 58.1% of the employed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander resident population.
The major differences between the occupations held by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population of the City of Ryde and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander of Greater Sydney were:
- A larger percentage of people employed as Professionals (25.9% compared to 16.6%)
- A larger percentage of people employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (18.5% compared to 13.9%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Labourers (5.4% compared to 11.2%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (3.5% compared to 8.3%)
