Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (9,109 males or 14.1%)
  • Construction (8,715 males or 13.5%)
  • Manufacturing (5,889 males or 9.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 23,713 males in total or 36.8% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Regional QLD employed 5.7% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 16.2% in Construction; and 7.8% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region and Regional QLD were:
