Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Hay Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (293 people or 22.9%)
  • Retail Trade (131 people or 10.3%)
  • Construction (118 people or 9.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 542 people in total or 42.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Albury City employed 1.4% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 10.5% in Retail Trade; and 10.2% in Construction.
