Analysis of the country of birth of recent overseas arrivals in the MidCoast Council in 2021 compared to Regional NSW shows that there was a similar proportion of people from a non-English speaking background.
The largest non-English speaking country of birth for the recent overseas arriving population in MidCoast Council area was India, where 17.9% or 140 people were born.
The major differences between the countries of birth of the recent overseas arriving population in MidCoast Council area and Regional NSW were:
- A larger percentage of people born in Philippines (15.5% compared to 8.1%)
- A larger percentage of people born in Nepal (11.0% compared to 6.7%)
